So, this is another of the haunts we visited while in the mountains this past week. We went in for lunch and proceeded to gorge ourselves on fried delicacies. Battered dill pickle chips, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, stuffed mushrooms and fried green tomatoes were among our appetizer selections. Can I just give a shout out for the fried green tomatoes? Just amazing. For our entrees, we sampled sloppy joes (yum), whistle stop burger (yum) and some other burger....all were served either with fries or homemade chips. To finish it off, we sampled fried, yes fried oreos with ice cream and hot fudge. Delicious on a whole new level. If you need me, I'll be getting my arteries cleaned while dreaming of the delicious treats at Whistle Stop. I'll definitely go back when in Blue Ridge and would advise you to stop in to this place. It's very kitschy and they look to have a good beer selection and a very big menu.

Wow! What awful service. Couldn't get anyone to acknowledge we were there and when we approached the bartender/manager we received attitude. Forget this place and go to Chester instead.

It is Valentine's weekend and they should NOT BE OPEN!! There is some kind of remodel going on. We had to ask for soap in the ladies room, then had dirt or mold in two of three of our waters. Then after waiting 45 minutes for food and no refills we received our greasy food. I think they have one cook, 2 bartenders and 2 servers. Not enough! Will not be back.

This is the most reasonably priced menu in downtown Blue Ridge. They have a new owner and have just been renovated. We live and work in Blue Ridge and often carry out our lunches or eat here after work. Our favorites are: wings (1/2 price on Wednesday) fish and gator tacos, kettle chips, hamburgers, salmon. There are dozens of craft beers on tap now. Lots of good choices!

Ordered the Philly cheese steak. It came on a small hoagie bun with meat only on half the bun. On the other half was about two tablespoons of meat. Order the onion rings with it at a two dollar up charge and received five small onion rings. Disappointing.

If you're in downtown Blue Ridge, go anywhere but here! We thought we were finding a quick spot for a meal, but this meal took us much longer than expected. We arrived around 3:30 PM. There were a couple other parties at the bar or down eating. Our server was very slow with drinks and taking our orders. It took us 20 minutes to order even though we pretty much knew what we wanted to eat. The food took at least 40 minutes to come out, so overall this place was pretty disappointing.

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had in my life. Myself and 12 girlfriends visited Blue Ridge, GA over the past weekend and stopped here on Saturday night after spending the day shopping. We were seated immediately, but after ordering, proceeded to wait for 55 minutes without our appetizers or soups and salads arriving. We repeatedly asked the waitress where our appetizers were and she repeated that the kitchen was slammed and everything would be out shortly. Soon after notifying the manager about how long we have been waiting we were told that the waitress was brand new and forgot to place our order. I had such pity for the waitress who was placed by herself to work a table of 13. Someone more experienced should have been placed with her to help. Once our food began arriving is when things got uglier. My grilled chicken for my salad was so burnt that it resembled breaded/fried chicken and couldn't even be cut with a knife it was so hard. I watched a friend's burger sit in the window for 20 minutes before it was brought to the table. Someone ordered chicken nachos and they had only 2 bite size pieces of chicken, the tiniest drizzle of cheese and sour cream and jalapenos glopped in the middle (They asked for it to be on the side!). Another person ordered chili nachos, when they arrived there was no chili and no cheese. They apparently ran out of cheese and chili (thus the reason there was only the tiniest drizzle of cheese on the other plate as they were scraping the bottom of the cheese sauce container to get any). The manager felt bad and offered to comp our food while we paid for whatever drinks we ordered which we deemed acceptable. However, the owner didn't agree and came to tell us that he would only offer 10% discount. You can't tell your customers one thing and then change your mind and tell them another. Bad form. Besides that point, when he came over to talk to us, I tried to explain that my friend was pregnant and after waiting for 2 hours very hungry and upset and he told me he didn't care! The owner was rude, insulting, unkind and after we explained all of the issues we had with the food and just finally asked him to send us the check because we were sick of him being so rude, he got even more insulting and told us that we would never be happy. We told him we would never return because of the way we were treated and the way the food tasted and he told us to get the hell out. I've been in the restaurant business all of my life. My family has owned a restaurant for the past 64 years and we would never think of treating a customer thusly! I do not foresee this restaurant being able to stay in business for long if they treat all of their customers in this manner and cannot acknowledge mistakes or constructive criticism.

Visited this restaurant for lunch and left extremely disappointed. The establishment was nearly empty and the food took 1 hour to arrive. There were 4 people in our party and I got my food 10 minutes before the others. Service was unapologetic so this experience must be the norm. Food was okay, nothing to make up for the service. Would not recommend.

The service was great, they had tons of menu options, and the food was amazing! Only complaint was that they were out of a few things that we tried to order. We will be back!

This place was not worth the time or money. Our waitress took forever to even come to our table, and then from the time we ordered drinks another twenty minutes or more elapsed before she even returned for our order. The food took over an hour to get to our table, and when it did arrive, most of it was cold and the French dips were soggy. I considered the prices much too high for the quality of the food. We won't be returning.

We stop in for lunch on a Saturday. Nice bar so we sat there and ordered some local drafts. The Tocca Brown is pretty good. Decided on some Fried Green Tomatoes to start. Service was good and quick. Tomatoes were tasty. I decided on a Turkey Club while the wife went with a Philly Cheese steak. Side of Onion rings and French Fries. Both orders were more than enough to fill us up, so some is going home with us. No complaints with food or service. We will come back.

Food was burned. Took 45 minutes to get it. Awful place.

I visited this place with my girlfriend and buddy last weekend. We didn't try any food since we had dinners plans but for a drinking spot it did great. The place has a nice outside patio area with tables and umbrellas in an area right outside the front door that is set below street level so you need to go down some stairs to reach everything. A decent beer selection with friendly waitresses, it was a great place to chill and enjoy some good weather. The food menu was fairly simple and the place seems kinda new but if you're looking for a laid back place to enjoy company and beer you could do a lot worse.

A big disapointment. Hadn't eaten here in ages but it was one of the few places open late on the holiday so we stopped for dinner. Chicken wings were skimpy scrawny things, totally unseasoned & fried much too long. Hot sauce was all heat & no flavor. French Dip was a small 6" sub roll with a few thin slices of beef & a dish of very salty & slightly burnt au jus. Just mediocre at best. Ya know you're in trouble when the best thing about your meal is the french fries. Maybe your best bet is to just order a beer & feed the jukebox instead.

Burgers, wings, wraps. Basic food, friendly staff. Bar with tv's. Nothing bad or outstanding.
(3)Mark F.
Lousy food, worse service and the management could care less. Was charged full price for cold burgers and baked potatoes without any acknowledgement from the staff AND, had to wait nearly an hour for it. Judging from past reviews of this place compared to more recent reviews across several sites, this place is sliding down fast. Drive on and don't waste your time. It's time for this place to close.

This is a great place to come with friends or family to have a good time, drink some good beer, and eat some good bar food. I love the wings, chips, and onion rings, and green tomatoes. The waitresses have always been super friendly and the service has been real good, even when the place is packed. It's especially fun on nights when there is a live band playing or on trivia night.

"What a disaster. We had 13 people in our party and it took 15 minutes to seat us. Then we place the orders and only half of it comes out. We then waited over an hour for the rest of it. The entire staff was a mess. Save yourself the time." Finish your review

The best burger I've had in while...seasoned well, and browned on each side. Husband liked the wings. They looked the perfect crispy. Very friendly, but service got a little slow around7. It was Wednesday night...1/2 off wings. Would go back!

Great place for family and their wings are reeeeeally hot. Ask for the Napalm wings. My husband raves about them to everyone!

My husband and I spent a week fly fishing and hiking to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We were a little dismayed by the fact that very, very few restaurants in this area are open past 8pm since we were usually still in the woods or on the river til 7:30-8. We found The Whistle Stop was open later so we stopped in for dinner by wish we had just gone to Wendy's or Taco Bell. First thing I noticed is the restaurant is rather dark and a hodgepodge of different tables, chairs, and booths. Just inside the door there was a guy playing guitar and singing very LOUDLY and did a huge disservice to some of my favorite country songs. We sat at the furthest possible table from the "stage" and had to literally yell to communicate across the table and to our waitress. The restaurant was busy but not full. My husband ordered ribs and a side salad. The salad took about 20 minutes to be delivered followed by our meals less than a minute later. Ribs look like they came from an anorexic pig as there was almost no meat on them and that along with the French fries were cold. French dip sandwich was ok but nothing I'd return for. Not overly priced but not very good either.

Do not go here. Visited from out of town and the bartender wrote in a $62.00 tip for herself.

Slow service, ok food. Great, cheap beer! :)

Ordered fried tomatoes.... Took forever.. They brought me five thin slices with dressing at the tune of $5.99. They were greasy and had no flavor. The bottle of beer was good. Won't order food there anymore.
